CARPAL WRAPS (New improved design!)

Carpal Wraps have been designed for the increasing number of dogs we are seeing with carpal (wrist) arthritis, deformity, hyperextension, and post carpal surgery. The neoprene wraps come in a variety of sizes, and have semi-rigid strips that can be added to pockets located in the wrap, to give light, moderate, or medium support to the carpus. They are designed to provide support to the carpus and the rigid strips can be added to provide limitation to movement thus reducing pain. They also provide warmth to stiff and painful joints affected by arthritis.

Carpal wraps are also recommended for
?  Arthritis of the carpal joint
?  Recent surgery to the carpal joint
?  Carpal hyperextension where surgery is not indicated or elected
?  Carpal deformity - particularly valgus (where feet face out sideways)
?  Sporting dogs to reduce the impact of repetitive jumping such as flyball and agility dogs.

CUSTOM MADE SPLINTS

We make a variety of custom made splints to support, protect and stretch joints and limbs. Most splints require making a cast of your pet's limb first.

Please contact us if you cannot make it to the centre and we can provide you with a casting kit so your vet can help you cast your pet's leg.
CANINE CARTS

Custom made canine and feline carts are available to help mobilise animals that are paralysed or have poor use of limbs. Many different styles are available, depending on the specific needs of your pet. Carts can be made for animals with hind limb paralysis or weakness, or for animals with all four limbs affected or amputees. Legs can either hang freely to be used during walking, or placed in straps to protect them from dragging. Most animals require a short period of adaption when they first get their cart.

Carts are recommended to be used under supervision only. Animals will need to build endurance in the cart, and short sessions only are recommended in the initial stages. In order for an animal to be successful in a cart, it should be in good health apart from the mobility problem requiring the use of the cart, have no lameness or problems in the unaffected limbs, not be excessively overweight, and be motivated to walk. Please contact us for further information.

We also distribute for Eddies Wheels, an American company specializing in custom made canine carts. Depending on your pets needs, we may source your cart from Eddies Wheels.
