Animal Physiotherapists are qualified Physiotherapists who have completed post-graduate qualifications in Animal Physiotherapy. They also must belong to the Animal Physiotherapy Group (APG), a special interest group of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Regular continuing education courses and lectures are run by the APG to ensure therapists keep their skills up to date. Members are encouraged to undertake a Masters of Animal Studies - Animal Physiotherapy, now offered to human Physiotherapists, at the University of Queensland.

This Masters has been developed by the school of Animal Studies, including the School of Veterinary Science, the Department of Physiotherapy and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. The profession of Physiotherapy prides itself on adopting evidence based practice, producing high quality scientific research. Graduates of the Animal Physiotherapy Masters Program will continue the trend to produce high quality scientific research, contributing to the evidence based practice of Animal Physiotherapy.

All Physiotherapists at Dogs In Motion Canine Rehabilitation Centre are fully insured to treat both humans and animals, through GUILD insurance company.

Animal Physiotherapists must work on Veterinary referral only. Once an animal commences rehabilitation at the centre, goals of rehabilitation will be discussed with the referring Veterinarian and regular progress reports will be provided.   Referrals can be made by via email, phone or fax.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss the suitability of any case for Animal Physiotherapy. Please use the Physiotherapy Referal Form on the right of the forms page.
